The Marinduque PENR Office spearheaded by OIC- PENRO Imelda M. Diaz together with the thirteen (13) existing Butterfly Permittees or Holders of Wildlife Farm Permit (WFP) and Wildlife Collector’s Permit (WCP) celebrated the “World Wildlife Day”, by releasing the ten percent (10%) of the total production of bred butterflies on March 04, 2019 at Barangay Bangbangalon, Boac.
The activity was done to increase and replenish the population of butterflies that basically help in the plant pollination process and act as natural pest control in the environment. Likewise, the presence of insects in the area is a good indicator of a healthy environment and ecosystems that goes with the theme, “Life below Water for the People and Planet”, of this year’s celebration of the “World Wildlife Day”. jchita
