DENR MARINDUQUE CONDUCTS TREE PLANTING ACTIVITY IN CELEBRATION OF THE PHILIPPINE ENVIRONMENT MONTH
On June 23, 2017, the DENR PENRO Marinduque personnel conducted a tree planting activity along the coastal area of Barangay Antipolo, Gasan, Marinduque in line with the month-long celebration of Philippine Environment Month this June having the theme "Connecting People to Nature", with the tagline, "I'm With Nature" which encourages people to show their collective love and appreciation for nature, and in celebration of the Arbor Day 2017.
The tree planting activity started at 7:00 in the morning and was headed by the Chief, Technical Services Division Cynthia U. Lozano together with Conservation and Development Chief, Emeterio M. Recto. A total of 300 seedlings of Talisay was planted and marked with stakes.
Afterwards, a short program was facilitated where Planning Officer I/Information Officer Jhonna Liza S. Medenilla shared information about the special events celebrated for the month of June while CDS Chief, Recto explained the importance of planting trees along the coastal areas.
Lastly, TSD Chief, Lozano thanked everyone who participated in the activity.###
DENR MARINDUQUE ORIENTS EMPLOYEES ON GENDER AND DEVELOPMENT
The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) - Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office Marinduque in line with the celebration of its 30th Anniversary conducts an Orientation on Gender and Development (GAD) Workshop for the Finalization of BP400 (Plan and Budget C.Y. 2017-2018) using Harmonize Gender and Development Guidelines (HGDG) and BP400A (Accomplishment Report CY 2016) and Capability Team Building for all employees on June 7-9, 2017 at Caliraya Resort Club Inc., Barangay Lewin, Lumban Laguna. This aims to orient all PENRO Marinduque employees on the basic concept of Gender and Development (GAD) and to have common understanding on its laws and policies.
Learning Service Provider Lorenza A. Umali, a GAD Specialist discussed the implementation of Magna Carta of Women as the enabling law to implement GAD programs, projects and activities in the country. She empathize the need to establish a good GAD Focal Point System in the organization to assure implementation of activities that promotes and recognizes women’s right. She also discussed the Harmonize Gender and Development Guidelines (HGDG) and the Checklist used in the preparation of GAD Plan and Budget and monitoring of Accomplishments Reports.
Succeeding discussions centered on the BP400 – GAD Plan and Budget CY 2017-2018 and BP400A – GAD Accomplishment Report CY 2016. Thereafter, Learning Service Provider clearly discussed the proper inputs to be reflected on the BP400 and BP400A format.
The activity was concluded to have clearly converse knowledge and information to the employees about the concept of GAD and its mandate, GAD Plan and Budget preparation and GAD Accomplishment Report submission.###
More than 400 bikers in Marinduque take part in protecting the environment
MOGPOG, Marinduque — In celebration of the 2022 Philippine Environment Month with the theme ‘Aksyon para sa Natatanging Mundo’ and 35th DENR Anniversary, the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources (PENRO)-Marinduque organized a Bike and Tree Planting Activity with the theme ‘Padyak para sa Kalikasan, Magtanim para sa Kinabukasan’ on Friday, June 10.
The bike activity kicked off at the Marinduque Provincial Sports Complex in Boac, going to Tabi-Buliasnin-Maligaya-Nangka-Laon service roads up to the Enhanced National Greening Program (ENGP) area in Barangay Capayang, Mogpog where the tree planting activity took place.
Present in the said event were different biker groups, national government agencies, provincial government, local government units, civil society organizations, non-government organizations, and advocates involved in supporting environmental activities.
Imelda Diaz, the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer said that one of the objectives of the event is to encourage participation of various stakeholders in rehabilitating and protecting the ecosystem through eco-friendly means of transportation, responsible ecotourism, reforestation and other good practices.
