DENR MARINDUQUE JOINS NATIONWIDE SIMULTANEOUS EARTHQUAKE DRILL
In a span of two minutes, all PENRO personnel managed to evacuate themselves during the simulation of Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill held on April 21, 2016, 8:30 a.m at the DENR PENRO Compound. OIC, PENRO Redante D. Diwa,CESE of DENR Marinduque executed an Special Order dated March14, 2016 entitled “ Creation of Team to assist local/foreign tourist in visiting some Ecotourism Destination and Protection of National Greening Program (NGP) sites and other DENR Concerns during Lenten Season in the province of Marinduque.”
This order aims to have direct assistance to some local/foreign tourist in visiting some ecotourism destination within the jurisdiction of DENR and in order to effectively protect in any form of damages/accident caused by carelessness of visiting groups during Lenten Season from March 22-27, 2016, three (3) teams for the three (3) different sites were created.
More than 400 bikers in Marinduque take part in protecting the environment
MOGPOG, Marinduque — In celebration of the 2022 Philippine Environment Month with the theme ‘Aksyon para sa Natatanging Mundo’ and 35th DENR Anniversary, the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources (PENRO)-Marinduque organized a Bike and Tree Planting Activity with the theme ‘Padyak para sa Kalikasan, Magtanim para sa Kinabukasan’ on Friday, June 10.
The bike activity kicked off at the Marinduque Provincial Sports Complex in Boac, going to Tabi-Buliasnin-Maligaya-Nangka-Laon service roads up to the Enhanced National Greening Program (ENGP) area in Barangay Capayang, Mogpog where the tree planting activity took place.
Present in the said event were different biker groups, national government agencies, provincial government, local government units, civil society organizations, non-government organizations, and advocates involved in supporting environmental activities.
Imelda Diaz, the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer said that one of the objectives of the event is to encourage participation of various stakeholders in rehabilitating and protecting the ecosystem through eco-friendly means of transportation, responsible ecotourism, reforestation and other good practices.
