DENR MARINDUQUE LAUNCHES ITS FIRST INTER-COLOR SPORTSFEST
DENR Marinduque launched its first Inter-Color Sportsfest and Development Program on September 29, 2016 at Provincial Convention Center, Capitol Compound, Bangbangalon, Boac, Marinduque.
The sportsfest aimed to promote healthy lifestyle, camaraderie and sportsmanship among DENR-Marinduque officials and employees both permanent and contractual.
It started with a Kick-off parade at 6:30 in the morning from Morion Arena, Boac and ended in the Provincial Convention Center, Bangbangalon, Boac, Marinduque where the entire activity was conducted.
The Chief of the Management Services Division and In-charge of the Office of the PENRO, Imelda M. Diaz officially opened the program through the lighting of torch as a symbol of harmony and goodwill throughout the event. It was followed by a Welcome Message and extended her gratitude to everyone for making the event a successful one and for the full support of employees in the sportsfest. Later, she emphasized that employees should be well-rounded and healthy in all aspects. A short message was delivered by AO Erlinda M. Rellis.
A 30-minute Zumba exercise was danced by everybody. Immediately thereafter, cheerdance competition was presented by the four (4) teams featuring the team’s creative cheer and groovy dance moves. Then, fun games were enthusiastically participated in group and individual games until 12 noon. Among the games featured includes relay games, thug-of-war, “basagan ng palayok” and “minute to win it” challenges like Nose Dive; Junk in the Trunk; Bite Me; and Defying gravity.
In the afternoon, volleyball games were also played in two (2) games simultaneous with the badminton games.
Finally, awards and prizes were given to winners of each competitions and games. ###
DENR MARINDUQUE SPEARHEADS NATIONAL CLEAN-UP
On September 17, 2016, Saturday, the DENR Marinduque spearheaded the observance of National Clean-up Month in the 6 municipalities of the province involving more than 170 barangays. All employees of the PENRO Marinduque were deployed to assist, monitor and coordinate with the Local Government Units (LGUs) during the conduct of the said activity. This first National Clean-up comes with the tagline “Bayan Ko, Linis Ko.” themed “Partnering towards People’s Environmental Movement”.
Prior to the activity, DENR Marinduque staff and personnel were briefed on September 12, 2016 by Chief, Management Service Division Imelda M. Diaz relative to the National Clean-up which will also celebrate the first 100 days of President Rodrigo Duterte. On September 14, 2016, despite of the short notice, the organizational meeting among national and local government agencies was held at the PENRO conference to discuss the same agenda.
Furthermore, radio plugging of the said activity were disseminated in three (3) local radio stations of the province namely RADYO Natin-Boac 105.7fm, RADYO Natin- Sta. Cruz 104.5 fm and Nutriskwela Community Radio of the municipality of Buenavista.
Garbage was collected by the dump truck of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) from the different municipalities. Trashes from in-land areas were mostly composed of plastic wrappers, cups and bags, cans, bottles, used clothes and garment. Similarly, plastic wrappers and bags were also found in the coastal areas together with styrofoams, fishing nets and lines, diapers and others.
Trash collected were properly disposed of at the nearest community and municipal dumping sites.
The said clean-up was simultaneously conducted with Mangrove Tree Planting and Coastal Clean-Up activity at Barangay Yook, Buenavista, Marinduque in celebration of the 116th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary with this year’s theme “Sigaw ng Lingkod Bayani: Malasakit para sa Taumbayan, Kapwa Kawani at Kalikasan”.
Government agencies including DOH, LTO, DPWH, PNP, DAR, Academe and NGOs were present in the said event. Two hundred three (203) Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries of the DSWD participated in the activity.
A short program was organized by the Municipality of Buenavista headed by their Mayor Russel S. Madrigal followed by the gift giving for fifty (50) selected senior citizens of the said municipality.
Lastly, the jam-packed day ended with a good boodle fight that suits everyone’s tastes perfectly.###
More than 400 bikers in Marinduque take part in protecting the environment
MOGPOG, Marinduque — In celebration of the 2022 Philippine Environment Month with the theme ‘Aksyon para sa Natatanging Mundo’ and 35th DENR Anniversary, the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources (PENRO)-Marinduque organized a Bike and Tree Planting Activity with the theme ‘Padyak para sa Kalikasan, Magtanim para sa Kinabukasan’ on Friday, June 10.
The bike activity kicked off at the Marinduque Provincial Sports Complex in Boac, going to Tabi-Buliasnin-Maligaya-Nangka-Laon service roads up to the Enhanced National Greening Program (ENGP) area in Barangay Capayang, Mogpog where the tree planting activity took place.
Present in the said event were different biker groups, national government agencies, provincial government, local government units, civil society organizations, non-government organizations, and advocates involved in supporting environmental activities.
Imelda Diaz, the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer said that one of the objectives of the event is to encourage participation of various stakeholders in rehabilitating and protecting the ecosystem through eco-friendly means of transportation, responsible ecotourism, reforestation and other good practices.
