In celebration of the 33rd DENR Anniversary and Philippine Environment Month with this year’s theme “Protect Nature, Sustain Our Future”, the Provincial Environment Natural Resources Office- Marinduque headed by Imelda M. Diaz, OIC-PENR Officer conducted a bamboo planting activity along the riverbanks of Boac River within Brgy. Tabi, Boac, Marinduque on June 18, 2020. The area is one of National Greening Program (NGP) sites of DENR for bamboo plantation, primarily for stabilization and protection of riverbanks and to reduce flooding during heavy rains and typhoons. ###

PENRO MARINDUQUE SHOWS GOOD DEEDS TO FRONTLINERS

DENR-PENRO Marinduque, thru the initiative of OIC-PENR Officer Imelda M. Diaz turned-over Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as face mask and surgical gloves to healthcare workers of the Marinduque Provincial Hospital thru Dr. Ed Ancheta and Supply Officer Ma. Asuncion M. Marquez on May 4, 2020. Likewise, assorted fruits were distributed to frontliners stationed in various checkpoints of the six municipalities of the province to show all-out support amidst the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Pandemic.

The funds used in the purchase of the PPE and assorted fruits amounting to P31,900.00 came from the voluntary contribution of PENRO Marinduque personnel as an act of caring and sharing for the Marinduqueῆos in times of COVID-19 crisis.

MSD In-Charge Gemma P. Delos Reyes together with PENRO Information Officer Jelomy H. Mahayag and some personnel conducted the distribution of PPE and fruit packs to beneficiaries.

PENRO MARINDUQUE SHOWS GOOD DEEDS TO FRONTLINERS

Proper protocol and safety measures like wearing of face masks and physical distancing were observed and practiced during the distribution of said relief goods. The beneficiaries were very happy and thankful to receive the donations for the generosity of DENR-PENRO Marinduque in these trying times while the COVID-19 Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ)  implementation is extended. ###

MOGPOG, Marinduque — In celebration of the 2022 Philippine Environment Month with the theme ‘Aksyon para sa Natatanging Mundo’ and 35th DENR Anniversary, the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources (PENRO)-Marinduque organized a Bike and Tree Planting Activity with the theme ‘Padyak para sa Kalikasan, Magtanim para sa Kinabukasan’ on Friday, June 10.

The bike activity kicked off at the Marinduque Provincial Sports Complex in Boac, going to Tabi-Buliasnin-Maligaya-Nangka-Laon service roads up to the Enhanced National Greening Program (ENGP) area in Barangay Capayang, Mogpog where the tree planting activity took place.

Present in the said event were different biker groups, national government agencies, provincial government, local government units, civil society organizations, non-government organizations, and advocates involved in supporting environmental activities.

Imelda Diaz, the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer said that one of the objectives of the event is to encourage participation of various stakeholders in rehabilitating and protecting the ecosystem through eco-friendly means of transportation, responsible ecotourism, reforestation and other good practices.
